Jewish Circle Dancing - Friday 28th May 2010

The children had a great time learning some traditional circle dances. They were taught three dances in all - one Jewish, one Romanian and one "Bear Dance" from Flanders. More multi-cultural events are on their way later in the term.

Dress Up As A Book Character Day (for Haiti Relief)

Friday 12th February 2010

The judging of the book character fancy dress competition.

In aid of the relief effort following the earthquake in Haiti, some of the girls from Year 5 organised a "Come To School Dressed As A Book Character" day on Friday 12th February 2010. Children paid £1 to dress up for the day, and could also pay 25p to buy a cake from the cake stall (thanks to parents and carers for cake donations). The total raised so far is £141.05, with some money still to be added to that total. Well done, everyone!

Come to School in Your Pyjamas Day - 20/11/09

In support of the BBC's Children in Need appeal for 2009, everyone paid to come to school on Friday 20th November in their pyjamas. Well done to all the children for their fundraising efforts.

Tour of the Emirates Stadium, home of Arsenal F.C.

Due to the school's involvement in fundraising for The Leprosy Mission, five children were invited down to London on Tuesday 2nd June 2009 for a tour of the Emirates Stadium, where Arsenal play their home games in the Premier League.

The behind-the-scenes tour was very interesting and the stadium itself is certainly an impressive sight. The lucky children had a very pleasant day (even with a lengthy and very warm train journey there and back!), as did the adults who went with them.

Tyre Park

A tyre park has been installed on the school playing field to give the children something different to play on. The tyre industry donated the tyres, the children decided on the layout and the School Council supervised the installation company in concreting the tyres into their final places. It now makes a bridge between the playground and the matted area on the field.

The children were keen to leap onto the tyre park as soon as it was safe to do so.
